RAID is good

So I noticed this in dmesg:

AppleRAID::completeRAIDRequest - error 0xe00002d6 detected for set "Untitled RAID Set 1" (89AE8501-EE3F-464A-8D85-4FBA55555568), member 0753BC13-0D12-47B8-88D6-464F0B9880EB, set byte offset = 153894912.
AppleRAID::recover() member 0753BC13-0D12-47B8-88D6-464F0B9880EB from set "Untitled RAID Set 1" (89AE8501-EE3F-464A-8D85-4FBA55555568) has been marked offline.
AppleRAID::restartSet - restarting set "Untitled RAID Set 1" (89AE8501-EE3F-464A-8D85-4FBA55555568).

and then checked ...

[gandalf:~] dluke% diskutil checkRAID

d'oh!

I couldn't pull up the smart status for that drive either.

So I went to reboot the machine, hoping that it would come back up and either let me rebuild the arrray, or just start rebuilding it.

It didn't want to come back up normally, so I hit the power on the UPS and it did.

Now I see the much happier:

[gandalf:~] dluke% diskutil checkRAID

SMART status looks OK too:

% smartctl -H disk0

Hopefully I don't need to buy a new drive and install it in jared's basement ...

Well, that didn't work from Daniel J. Luke's Weblog on August 24, 2006 12:56 AM

RAID rebuilds just crashed the machine. Repeatedly. Jared was kind enough to unplug one of the drives for me, so... Read More
